Intan Ahmad recently has been working with insects, such as mosquitoes, cockroaches and flies, which develop resistance to insecticides as well as developing methods, including bait to control various urban and industrial pests. Currently, at his laboratory, he keeps the colony of Aedes aegypti, Culex quinquefasciatus, Blattella germanica, Musca domestica, and subterranean termites. Previously, he was interested in the adaptive significance of behavioral and physiological characteristics of insects and research where the fields of behavior, ecology, and physiology overlap. He was also interested in the physiology of Bombyx mori, particularly studying the effect of Thyroxine and Juvenile hormones on the economical characters of the cocoon (ref.
